How to uninstall/reinstall ESET Remote Administrator Server and Console

1. Back up the Remote Administrator Console database using eratool.exe.

        a. Browse to C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET Remote Administrator\Server and open eratool.exe.

        b. Click Next twice to get to the "Select Action" page.

        c. Click the radio button for Database backup (to an external dump file)

        d. Click next again and make sure the proper database type is selected. By default it's MS Access. If you've changed the type, select the type and make sure the database location is accurate.

        e. Click Next again and select the location to save the dump file. Name the file accordingly, leave "Overwrite if exists" unchecked and "Stop server during processing task" should be checked.

        f. Click Next again, then click start.

        g. When the information window pops up and notifies you that the task finished successfully, proceed to step 2.

* - If they have any packages that they created in the installation, you will want to back them up by copying them from their directory. They are by default located at C:\Documents and Settings\All users\Application data\eset\eset remote administrator\server\packages.
        
2. Uninstall RAC and RAS.

        a. Open the run command and then type services.msc and click ok. Scroll to and stop the "eset RA HTTP Server" and "Eset Remote Administrator server".

        b. Go to Start > All Programs > Eset >  ESET Remote Administrator Console and choose uninstall from the submenu. Confirm and then do the same for the Eset Remote Administrator Server installation.

        c. After those two have been uninstalled, reboot the server, then proceed to step 3. 
       
3. Reinstall the LATEST versions of RAC and RAS.

        Following your initial installation methods, reinstall the Remote Administrator Server, then the Remote Administrator Console; in that order. Make sure you download the latest versions from our website (http://download.eset.com/download/ra/era_server_nt32_enu.msi and http://download.eset.com/download/ra/era_console_nt32_enu.msi) if you have not done so.

4. Restore the database using eratool.exe.

        a. Browse to C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET Remote Administrator\Server and open eratool.exe.

        b. Click Next twice to get to the "Select Action" page.

        c. Click the radio button for Database restore (from an external dump file)

        d. Click Next and select the file you backed up to.

        e. Click Next and click start. Let the restore finish, then close out the eratool.
