It is essential to correctly configure the proxy server settings in order to download virus signature updates, submit suspicious files, report statistical information, send technical support requests from within the software, etc. See the step-by-step instructions below for configuring your proxy server settings in ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus.
-
Open the main program window by clicking the icon
in the Windows notification area or by clicking Start → All Programs → ESET → ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus.
-
Press the F5 key to open the Advanced Setup window. From the setup tree, click Miscellaneous → Proxy server.
-
Select the Use proxy server option and enter the server address and port (default is 3128) of your proxy server. If you do not know this information, click Detect proxy server.
-
If authentication to the proxy server is required, select the Proxy server requires authentication option and specify the Username and Password granting access to the proxy server. Click OK to save the changes.
