How do I prevent the splash screen from displaying? (3.0)

By default, ESET Smart Security and ESET NOD32 Antivirus display a small splash screen on program startup.

If you would like to disable this splash screen, please follow the steps below:

Home Users

  1. Open the main program window by clicking the icon  in the Windows notification area or by clicking Start → All Programs → ESET → ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus.
  2. Press the F5 key to display the Advanced Setup window.

  3. From the Advanced Setup tree, click User interface and then deselect the Show splash-screen at startup option.

  4. Click OK to save the changes.

Business Users

 

If you are managing multiple client workstations in a network environment, you can turn the splash screen off remotely using the ESET Configuration Editor. Please follow the steps below:

 

Applying the new .xml configuration

To apply this new .xml file to all clients in your network, follow the steps below:
  1. Click File New Task from the ESET Remote Administrator Console. Select Configuration and click OK.
  2. Click the Select... button and locate the .xml file you have just created (or modified). Double-click the .xml file and then click Next.

  3. Select all clients which the .xml configuration file is to be applied to, by dragging and dropping them into the Selected items column. Click Next.

  4. A summary window will be displayed, showing the task type and list of client workstations to be updated. Click Finish to apply the configuration.

 

  1. Open the ESET Remote Administrator Console (ERAC) by clicking Start → All Programs → ESET → ESET Remote Administrator Console.

  2. From the ERAC main menu click Tools ESET Configuration Editor.

  3. From the tree structure on the left, click ESET Smart Security, ESET NOD32 Antivirus ESET Kernel Setup Default user interface values Show splash-screen at startup.

  4. Deselect the Yes check box on the right. Close the ESET Configuration Editor and save the .xml configuration file.

    NOTE: If you do not see the Default user interface values shown in Fig. 1-3 above, please verify that you have the latest version of ESET Remote Administrator installed.
