Recent Report Proves that ESET Delivers Protection to Consumers with No False Positives

ESET received its third consecutive ‘Top rated product’ award from AV-Comparatives. Leading in the categories for False Positives and Performance, ESET received Gold medals for its top results. Consumers can benefit from the solution’s lightweight perfomance and obstacle-free detection, allowing them to enjoy safer internet.

AV-Comparatives annual report, titled ‘Summary Report 2016’, evaluates test results from the past year and recognizes the best IT security solutions available on the market. Additionally, the report offers an overview of selected consumer products, including ESET Internet Security, the newest member of the company’s consumer portfolio introduced in October 2016. 

“ESET has been present in our Summary Reports for the past 10 years, leading our tests with an extremely low impact on device performance, zero false positives, and all the while sustaining its detection,” said Andreas Clementi, CEO at AV-Comparatives. 

As written in the report, “false positives can cause as much trouble as real infection. Due to this, it is important that antivirus products undergo stringent quality assurance and testing before release to the public, in order to avoid false positives,” continued Andreas Clementi.

“Over the past three years the wider security industry has had to accelerate its efforts to detect and neutralize threats. Now, even despite an ever higher standard for the malware  detection rate, we are still able to provide our users with very light and reliable products that require only minimal maintenance or attention,” said ESET CTO, Juraj Malcho. 

In the past 12 months, ESET has recorded four Advanced + Awards and three Advanced Awards from AV-Comparatives.
