ESET NOD32 Antivirus wins first place in its category thanks to the votes from Argentina distribution channel 

Buenos Aires, September 17th, 2007 – ESET NOD32 Antivirus was chosen as the Best Antivirus Software during the 2007 ITSitio Awards ceremony, finishing well ahead of its competition. As a result, ESET has established itself in the regional distribution channel three years after opening its office in Latin America. 

ITSitio is a Business Platform which centralizes the distribution channel including the market’s most important producers and wholesalers.  It pioneered the ITSitio Awards in 2005.  The 2007 ITSitio Awards featured more than 700 companies, including wholesalers, distributors, resellers and retailers.

The methodology used to bestow the Awards is based on a vote made by the Argentine sales channel registered in ISItio’s different categories.  The ISItio award winners are chosen from a variety of software and hardware producers and wholesalers. 

Within the Best Security Software category, ESET reached garnered 36 percent of the votes for its multi-award winning product ESET NOD32 Antivirus winning the “Platinum Award” with twice as many votes as the second and third-place finisher.   

This award places ESET alongside the leading companies in their markets, such as HP, Intel, AMD, 3com, Cisco, Microsoft or Sony, which have also won Awards in their respective categories.

“The Argentine sales channel has high confidence in ESET and they proved it with this award; now our aim is to increase our sales in Argentina and the rest of Latin America thanks to the support shown by the Argentine and Latin American channels,” said Ignacio M. Sbampato, ESET’s vice president for Latin America. 

ESET’s trade model is carried out through the sales channel by means of exclusive distributors in some countries and non-exclusive partners in the rest. ESET does not have direct sales; since it considers that the sales channel allows reaching the clients’ needs by means of local attention and personalized assistance. For this reason, it promotes a policy of transparency and respect towards its partners, with whom it has established a healthy mutual relationship.
