ESET Captures 53rd Virus Bulletin VB100 Award

Virus Bulletin is an independent testing organization with full time professional, independent antivirus experts. VB is widely recognized within the antivirus industry for their rigorous comparative tests focusing on virus detection rates, scanning speed, and generation of false positives. To earn a Virus Bulletin Award (VB100), an antivirus product must detect all of the current “In the Wild”viruses and not produce any false positives.

NOD32 is the only solution worldwide that has never missed a single “In the Wild” worm or virus in this testing since May 1998 and holds the world record of VB100 Awards, obtaining the 53rd Award in December2008.
The table below is based on the number of times all of these products have been tested periodically on various operating systems with Virus Bulletin since May 1998 which is when NOD32 was first submitted to them for testing.

Symantec is second in the Virus Bulletin test history although in the same tests NOD32 produced much less file access lag time, with much smaller system footprint and far less system resources usage. Symantec also failed 3 Virus Bulletin tests prior to NOD32 making its debut. That brings their overall success ratio down to 91.38%.
